Journey of Generosity
Saturday, May 2 | 9 AM - 2 PM
A Journey of Generosity (JOG) is a one day retreat designed to explore biblical generosity. It’s a conversational experience that includes scripture, teaching, and inspirational stories led by a trained facilitator. This retreat is an opportunity to focus on the power and joy of generosity in a pressure-free environment.
JOG isn’t a lecture, a fundraiser, or a financial seminar. It’s an interactive conversation with others where you’ll spend a day hearing real life stories of people whose lives have been transformed by generosity. You’ll reflect on generosity as it is seen throughout Scripture and explore how generosity can reshape your purpose.
It’s important you know:
We have created a safe and inspiring environment for people to talk about generosity without any concern there will be an appeal for funds. We are all on a journey together to discover God’s desire for our lives related to generosity. We do not presume to know where God is calling you to invest your time, talent, or treasure. A Journey of Generosity is personal, and we are here to support you.
WHEN: Saturday, May 2, 9 AM to 2 PM
COST: Free.
DETAILS: Breakfast and lunch provided. Childcare available.

Here's what some of our folks are saying!

Courtney Boyd
Last year I walked into a Journey of Generosity (JOG) course as a single mom of a five-year-old, honestly not thinking I was in a position to offer much of anything. In my mind, generosity felt like something for people who had extra, not people just trying to be faithful with what they have. I had believed my story was too messy or complicated for God to use in something like this. But through JOG I saw clearly that the invitation to generosity isn’t limited by income, age, or life stage. From single college students to minors, from single parent homes like mine all the way to billionaires, everyone has a role in the Great Commission, and JOG really brings that to life. One simple and practical thing I’ve been able to do is share a room with my daughter and open my home to international students who have no place to go during longer holidays. Our two bedroom isn’t the flashiest, but it’s big enough to offer a warm bed and love to someone separated from their family.

The Journey of Generosity (JOG) transformed my life. I no longer view my resources as meant to maximize my own happiness, but as another way that I can help grow God’s kingdom on Earth. I did my first JOG during a summer break in college, which was so beneficial for me to take then. It showed me that even as a college student, my monetary and service generosity could make an impact, and it also steered me away from pursuing money in my career path. The economist view fails to take into account that the IMMENSE returns of generosity are not found in this life per se, but the next. "Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves break in and steal" (Matthew 6:20 NIV).

Mike and I talk about money a lot; it comes with the territory of working for ourselves. Planning, tracking, optimizing, always thinking about where it’s going. But last year, we did Journey of Generosity (JOG) and it completely reframed things. It’s not that 10% is God’s. It’s that 100% is. And He doesn’t need our money; we get to worship through it. The biggest shift? Understanding what “enough” actually looks like. And being able to say yes freely when opportunities arise to love others through generosity. If money’s been on your mind, this is one of the most impactful ways to reset your perspective.
