Work Matters is Park's group for professionals of every kind. The vision of Work Matters is to equip and empower the Park community to embrace God’s eternal purposes for work, for the welfare of Chicago and the advancement of His Kingdom.
We do this through three ways:
- Training. Work Matters holds classes every Spring and Fall focused on helping our Park community surrender their work to God
- Vocational Groups. We have vocational groups for people in the Corporate, Medical, and Education fields to allow professionals to connect with others in their field. More groups are coming soon!
- City-wide Engagement. We partner with other churches and ministries across the city to host events focused on equipping Chicagoland Christians to more fully align their work to God's purposes and seek the welfare of the city.

Healthy Calling: A Conversation on Vocation, Faith, and Flourishing with Dr. Arianna Molloy
What does it mean to pursue a calling that is both excellent and sustainable — one that reflects who God made you to be without losing yourself in the process?
Join Work Matters, CS Lewis Institute, Renew Chicago, and Faith & Work Chicago for an evening fireside conversation with Dr. Arianna Molloy, author of Healthy Calling, as she explores what it looks like to hold vocation and identity with open hands. Together, we'll examine the spiritual rhythms, honest limits, and deeper motivations that shape not just how we work, but why — and how the gospel speaks into all of it.
You'll leave with a richer framework for thinking about your own calling, practical language for the tensions you already feel, and the encouragement that faithfulness at work is less about doing more and more about being rooted. We hope the evening sparks conversation that continues long after you leave.
Arianna Molloy (PhD, University of Denver) is associate professor of organizational communication at Biola University. Her research focuses on meaningful work, work as a calling, and the connection between humility and burnout in the workplace. She is an award-winning scholar and educator who has published in the International Journal of Business Communication, Communication Studies, and Christianity Today. Arianna is also a consultant for organizations, business professionals, and ministries.
Thursday, June 25 | 7-830PM | Rooms 205/206
The event is free but please register to help us get an accurate head count for dinner.
