When Jesus died on the cross, he wasn't just executed for claiming to be king; he became the perfect sacrifice and our substitute. Without sin, he took the justice we deserved as God the Father poured out his wrath on God the Son.
Our response to God's anger should be repentance and rest—resting in the truth that He is enough, He is justice, and we are forgiven.
